Following patch files can be applied to the source code of certain KOffice or Calligra versions. It is suitable if the applications are built from the source code. This section provides a list fixes and improvements found after given release. To use the patches, apply them to source code by saving it in 'koffice/' (or 'calligra/', respectively) source code directory and running:
patch -p0 < patchfilename
Note that the source code in KDE Subversion (branches/koffice/2.2/koffice/, branches/koffice/2.3/koffice/) repository has the patches applied already, and is so you can safely fetch it instead of patching the original versions released with KOffice.
The patch supports KOffice releases 2.2.0, 2.2.1, 2.2.2, 2.3.0, 2.3.1, 2.3.2, 2.3.3. If there is 2.3.4 released eventually, the fix will be already included. Any Kexi release (part of Calligra 2.4.0 or newer) will contain the fix already.
This patch fixes issue with inserting records into tables where one or more fields have "required" attribute set - inserting was not possible because of popping up error about missing value. This fixes reported bug #267311.
It's safe to apply the patch if you are unsure.

The patch supports KOffice releases 2.2.0, 2.2.1, 2.2.2, 2.3.0, 2.3.1, 2.3.2, 2.3.3. If there is 2.3.4 released eventually, the fix will be already included. Any Kexi release (part of Calligra 2.4.0 or newer) will contain the fix already.
This patch adds missing color properties that are recently identified as fundamental regression for Kexi Forms in series 2 of Kexi. This fixes reported bug #267671.
It's safe to apply the patch if you are unsure.

The patch supports KOffice releases 2.3.0, 2.3.1, 2.3.2, 2.3.3. If there is 2.3.4 released eventually, the fix will be already included. Any Kexi release (part of Calligra 2.4.0 or newer) will contain the fix already.
This patch properly handles information of lookup columns, i.e. in a way no longer causing crash.

If you encountered a defect that causes abnormal termination of given application, you may want to report it at https://bugs.kde.org. It is recommended that you provide so called backtrace for the authors of application. The backtrace (or strack trace) is a text information about execution context in textual form. It is available for you if you have debugging information for given application installed.
Do this by installing extra package(s), e.g. on openSUSE it is set of koffice2-{applicationname}-debuginfo packages, so e.g. for Kexi it is koffice2-kexi-debuginfo package. After installing the package(s), to get the backtrace, re-run the problematic application and try to cause the same defect as before.

На данный момент доступна версия 2.2.0. [extra] репозиторий содержит мета-пакет koffice-meta-koffice с помощью которого установится весь koffice, с другой стороны можно просто установить отдельный пакет (такой как, koffice-kword, чтобы установить только kword).

openSUSE поставляет KOffice на DVD диске и в OSS, главном репозитории устанавливаемом по умолчанию.
Текущий выпуск openSUSE 11.3, предоставляет KOffice 2.1.2.
В зависимости от предпочтений можно использовать YaST, в виде пункта, напрямую доступного, например из Kickoff меню во вкладке компъютер. Просто нажмите . Либо используйте Zypper, менеджер пакетов openSUSE для командной строки.
Можно выбрать для установки как один так и больше компонентов для установки. Главный пакет называется koffice2, каждое приложение имеет свой пакет, например koffice2-kword для KWord.
Пакет содержащий переводы (и документацию) устанавливается автоматически и зависит от установленного по умолчанию языка. Очевидно, что можно установить поддержку другого языка, выбрав пакет выглядящий как koffice2-l10n-yourlanguage, например koffice2-l10n-it.
