There are currently some problems with some images on UserBase. During the odpad to the new skin and new versions of MediaWiki and the translate extension, something went wrong. We believe that it is fixable, and that it will be solves soon, so don't panik :-)
On a different note, when you are uploading screenshots it is actually best to use images in full size. They can then be scaled to the proper display size like so:
[[Image:YourScreenshot.png|500px|thumb]]
Of course you can use a different size if you want. The size is the width of the image in pixels.
