Just once more The messages you have mentioned are from desktop_kdepim.po. Ubuntu breaks other distributions convention to merge these translations into .desktop. They patch kdelibs itself to load catalog from compiled .mo. There is no way to use the translations (if you do not use Ubuntu derivative) other that translate upstream (with other KDE teams) or manually merge the translations.
It depends on version you are using. The templates can be slightly different, causing the troubles of this kind. It could be much easier to answer if you give some hints about the versions and template that you are using. In general, to find some string you can use KDE dictionary for British English. Example.
