Does this mean that actual info is missing? If so, it might be a good idea to be more specific - perhaps something like

Btw. is "stanza" the preferred way to refer to such parts of a settings file, or would something like "section" do?

I had a quick chat on #plasma, and the concensus was that your interpretation is right, your solution good, and substituting 'section' for 'stanza' would be a good thing :-)
