Please remove the distinction "using package managers" vs. "command line". Experts know that there is a distinction, but beginner's will say "I just want a way that works, not two ways to decide between where I don't understand the difference". --ThorstenStaerk 13:04, 18 August 2011 (BST)

Then the command-line section is the one that must be removed. For newcomers, the tools provided by the distro are always preferable.

This is a tricky questio. On one hand we don't want to overwhelm beginners with info that they don't really need. On the other hand some beginners will want to know more. We might hide the CLI stuff away by placing it in a subpage. That way beginners would not be confused on first reading, but would still be able to learn more when they want to.
