You can choose an ''Encoding profile'' for the proxy clips, which will define the size, codecs and bitrate used when creating a proxy. The proxy profiles can be managed from the '''Kdenlive''' Settings dialog (<menuchoice>Settings -> Configure Kdenlive -> Project Defaults</menuchoice>).
