With a variety of applications for different fields, such as Language and Science, KDE shows that isn't just serious about empowering computer users, it is serious about empowering our young with knowledge as well.

Languages

Kanagram is a word-guessing game, where letters of the word are mixed up for the user to guess.
 
KHangMan is another word-guessing game, this time in the tradition of the classical hangman game.
 
Kiten is a Japenese reference and learning tool.
 
KLettres is an aid for learning the very first sounds of a new language. Over a dozen languages are available.
 
KWordquiz is a general purpose flashcard program, useful for vocabulary training and other subjects.
 
Parley is another general-purpose memorizing tool with language support. Uses a spaced repetition learning method.

Mathematics

KAlgebra is an algebraic calculator with support for the MathML markup language.
 
KBruch is a tutorial program for practicing calculating with fractions.
 
Kig is a program for exploring geometric constructions.
 
KmPlot is a powerful mathematical function plotter for KDE.
 
KPercentage is a small utility to help students exercise calculating percentages.

Science

Kalzium is an application for viewing information about the elements in the periodic system.
 
KStars is a desktop planetarium for KDE, accurately representing the night sky from any location on the planet. (Link to Userbase KStars page)
 
Marble is a powerful virtual globe and world map. It is able to use OpenStreetMaps.
 
Step is an interactive physical simulator which shows how a scene will evolve according to the laws of physics.

Miscellaneous

blinKen is the KDE version of the well-known game Simon Says.
 
KGeography is a geography learning tool that includes a map browser and some games.
 
KTouch is a program for learning touch typing on a keyboard quickly and correctly.
 
KTurtle is an educational programming environment that can be used to teach kids math, geometry and programming. It uses a language loosely based on Logo.
