Una de les millors maneres d'obtenir respostes és demanar-se-les a altres usuaris. Això és el que l'IRC (Internet Relay Chat) pot facilitar. Durant la vostra participació podeu preguntar i alhora animar-vos a respondre les preguntes d'altres usuaris quan sigueu capaç -coneixeu la resposta-. Per unir-vos a un xat de KDE,
- apunteu el navegador a
http://webchat.freenode.net
- decidiu un nom d'usuari i entreu-lo
- com a canal, entreu
#kdeo#el_nom_del_canal_que_s'us_ha_indicat_utilitzar
- escriviu el text que es mostra gràficament (aquest és un codi en una imatge per a mantenir allunyats als spammers)
- feu clic sobre
Tindreu l'oportunitat de parlar amb tots els altres participants en el canal #kde.

Aquí hi ha una llista dels canals IRC. Per entrar en un altre canal (sobre fedora en aquest exemple), escriviu
/join #fedora-kde
Si voleu més opcions de configuració de les que us pot proporcionar un navegador, podeu instal·lar aplicacions d'IRC com Quassel o Konversation.
Arranjar Konversation
Konversation is one of the easiest applications to set up that you'll ever meet. Most of the settings have defaults that are perfect, so here is what you need to do:
- Find Konversation in your menu and launch it
- The address of a Freenode server is already listed
- Click
- Type the name that you want to be your username in the small box at the bottom left of the screen. If it is not already in use, it's yours for the session.
- The long bar below the chat window is where you enter all your text, so first you need to join a channel. Enter, for example,
/join #mageia-kdeor/join #kde-esif you want to talk to KDE users in Spain.
That's it! You're on your way!
