In most distros Bookmarks are not enabled by default. In order to use bookmarks we first have to enable themOpen a <menuchoice>File -> Open</menuchoice> in most KDE applications and you will see, at the right-hand edge of the icon panel, a spanner or wrench.  From the drop-down list, choose <menuchoice>Show Bookmarks</menuchoice>.
