Message definition (History of KDE)

To tackle this problem, the [http://www.kde.org/whatiskde/kdefreeqtfoundation.php KDE Free Qt Foundation] was founded by the KDE project and Trolltech. This foundation ensured the continued availability of Qt as a free software development framework. Namely, should Trolltech no longer make Qt available for free software, the currently released version will be re-released under the BSD style license - a license similar in nature but less restrictive than the GPL or LGPL.

Para resolver este problema, a Fundação Qt livre para o KDE foi fundada pelo projeto KDE e pela Trolltech. Esta fundação garantiu a continuidade da disponibilidade do Qt como uma infra-estrutura de desenvolvimento de software livre. Isto é, a Trolltech não mais disponibilizaria o Qt somente para software livre, a versão atual seria re-lançada sob uma licença no estilo BSD - uma licença similar na natureza, mas menos restritiva do que a GPL ou LGPL.
