O rekonq interage bem com outros aplicativos da família family. O rekonq sempre usará os aplicativos padrão para lidar com os diversos tipos de arquivo. Arquivos PDF, por exemplo, serão abertos em um kpart embutido do Okular de dentro do rekonq. Arquivos de mídia serão abertos no Reprodutor Dragon (ou qualquer outro aplicativo padrão para este tipo de arquivo).
