Constraint groups can be added from the <menuchoice>Add new</menuchoice> option from the '''APG Preset Editor''' window, constraints under a group are logically linked, the same applies to groups under groups.
There are currently two kinds of constraint groups: "Match all" groups and "Match any" groups. "Match all" groups require that all the constraints under them are met by the song. "Match any" groups require that at least one of the constraints under them are met by the song. To add a constraint under a specific group highlight it on the preset editor and use the <menuchoice>Add new</menuchoice> option.

Os grupos de restrições podem ser adicionados com a opção Adicionar novo da janela do Editor de predefinições do APG, sendo que as restrições de um determinado grupo estejam ligadas de forma lógica, aplicando-se o mesmo aos grupos dentro de grupos. Existem atualmente dois tipos de grupos de restrições: o "Corresponder a tudo" e o "Corresponder a qualquer". Os grupos "Corresponder a tudo" obrigam a que todas as restrições sejam obedecidas pela música. Os grupos "Corresponder a qualquer" obrigam a que pelo menos uma das restrições seja cumprida pela música. Para adicionar uma restrição em um grupo específico, selecione-o no editor de predefinições e use a opção Adicionar novo.
