Dalším důvodem je oddělení aplikací s GUI jako KMail od přímého přístupu k externím zdrojům, jako jsou mail servery -- to byl v minulosti hlavní požadavek v záznamu bugů a přání vzhledem k výkonu resp. odezvě.
