This means, that on one end we are left with empty space, which is filled with zeros, and on the other end, values can "fall outside", and in this case they will be truncated to max (255). <menuchoice>Change gain</menuchoice> changes the size of the cube, keeping the "black" corner fixed, affecting predominately highlights, but the other end can still "fall out" and get 255 truncated. <menuchoice>Change gamma</menuchoice> keeps the whole cube in the same place, just stretches and squeezes its interior, so no zero filling or truncation is necessary.}}

Додати сталу просто посуває «куб» простору кольорів RGB. Це означає, що на одному кінці у нас виникне порожнє місце, кольори якого буде просто заповнено нулями, а на іншому кінці матимемо «вихід за межі», де усі значення буде обрізано до максимальних (255). Змінити підсилення змінює розмір куба, не змінюючи розташування «чорного» кута. Це, в основному, впливає на виблиски, але може призвести і до «виходу за межі» з обрізанням за значенням 255. Змінити гаму зберігає розташування куба, просто виконує розтягування або стискання у його межах, отже не відбувається заповнення нулями або обрізання.
