Sheets est le successeur de KSpread et fait partie de Calligra office suite. Le développement de Sheets a commencé en 1998 par Torben Weis^[1]. Lorsque la communauté Calligra s'est séparée de la communauté KOffice, KSpread a été renommé Sheets dans le fork de Calligra et KSpread a également été rapidement renommé en KCells dans le projet KOffice original^[2].
