Message definition (History of KDE)

Those who prioritised the release of an GPL licensed formed the Harmony project - a project to clone Qt under a GPL license. Rapid progress was made during its time and thus gave purists no excuse to reject KDE as a respectable and compliant desktop environment. However this project was depreciated as Trolltech made the decision to re-license Qt under the GPL.

Ті, хто надавав пріоритет випуску бібліотек за умов ліцензування GPL, створили проект Harmony (Гармонія) — проект клонування Qt з ліцензуванням згідно GPL. Проект розвивався надзвичайно швидкими темпами, у пуристів просто не було причин для відмови KDE у статусі поважного і надійного стільничного середовища. Але розвиток проекту було припинено, оскільки компанія Trolltech прийняла рішення випустити версію Qt за умов ліцензування GPL.
