No, it says that the way it was first written it was updating every 2 seconds, which was a bug. When it was re-written, it arbitrarily updated daily, which is the other extreme.
There was no mechanism included to allow setting the update time when it was re-written. This is what was omitted and is what is desired, as exists in every other slideshow, Picture of the Day, and photo collection display app / module.
