Giriş
Kdenlive, KDE Non-Linear Video Editor (KDE Doğrusal Olmayan Video Düzenleyici) kelimelerinin kısaltılmışıdır. Öncelikle Linux platformu için amaçlanmış (GPL lisanslı) ücretsiz bir yazılımdır. Ayrıca BSD[1] ve MacOS işletim sistemlerinde de sadece (Qt ve MLT çalışma çerçevelerine bağlı taşınabilir bileşenlerden oluştuğundan) çalışabilir.
Doğrusal olmayan video düzenleyici' başlangıçların (doğrusal) düzenleyicilerinden çok daha başarılıdır. Bundan dolayı başlamadan önce daha fazla düzenleme gereklidir. Ancak sadece uzman kullanımı için ayrılmamıştır ve küçük kişisel projeler için de kullanılabilir.
MLT çalışma ortamın sağladıkları ile Kdenlive video ve ses işlemesi veya oluşturması için gerekli çok sayıda eklenti efektini bütünleştirir. Ayrıca Kdenlive video oluşturma için tam bir stüdyo olarak kullanılabilmesi için güçlü bir DVD sahiplik (menü) çözümü getirir.
