'''Kdenlive''' writes <tt>sh.mlt</tt> XML files that code the edit points and transitions and it then calls <tt>/usr/bin/kdenlive_render</tt> and <tt>/usr/bin/melt</tt> to render the video.

По суті, Kdenlive є обгорткою до melt — програми, яка використовує бібліотеку для обробки відео MLT. Бібліотека MLT використовує програми з проєкту FFMPEG. Kdenlive записує файли XML sh.mlt із кодом точок редагування і переходів, а потім викликає /usr/bin/kdenlive_render і /usr/bin/melt для обробки відеоданих.
