Introduktion
Kdenlive er som navnet antyder KDEs Non-Linear Video Editor. Den er fri software (under GPL licens) og fortrinsvis rettet mod Linux-platforme, men virker også på mange andre systemer (*BSD, Windows, MacOS...), da den kun bruger portérbare komponenter ([http://qt.nokia.com/ Qt og MLT framework).
Ikke-lineær videoredigering er kan meget mere end lineære editorer, som primært bruges af begyndere; det betyder, at den kræver lidt mere organisering før man begynder. Den er dog ikke kun for specialister; den kan også bruges til små personlige projekter.
Via MLT-fundamentet integrerer Kdenlive mange plugin-effekter til video- og lydbehandling og -fremstilling. Derudover har Kdenlive et stærk værktøj til at lave titler, fremstilling af DVD'er med menuer og kan også bruges som et komplet studio til videofremstilling.
Videoredigeringsfunktioner
