Baloo's extended attribute info on two wikis
You reverted my edit to Baloo here on userbase; I have a hard time figuring out what info goes best on the three wikis, I apologize if I got it wrong. But then presumably you disagree with moving the info to community:Baloo/Architecture#Baloo_and_extended_attributes ? It is bad to duplicate information in two different places, and sure enough User:Zachus has added a lot of information about file attributes here so the text I copied to community.kde.org has drifted out of date. All this geeky information about extended attributes is split between help for advanced users (which doesn't fit on an Architecture page) and architecture info that isn't of interest to users, so it seems the choices are
- Revert your revert so Baloo is again a stub pointing to community:Baloo.
- Replace the duplicated extended attribute info on community:Baloo/Architecture with a a See pointer.
- Split the info between userbase and community, with See also pointers from one to the other.
It's a tradoff between one imperfect place with the info vs. atomization. Also, is there a template on each wiki for "See also/More info on {one of the other three wikis}"?
Rather than leave this unresolved I implemented #2, but I don't have a strong opinion.

Hi Spage
Thank you for caring about the Baloo page. I know very little about Baloo and can't really recall my reasons for reverting your edit. The fact that the UserBase page has received new edits in the mean time could be construed as evidence, that the revert makes sense, but I apologize for not reaching out to you to discuss the matter before making the edit. I agree, that your option #2 is the best way forward.
I guess the reason for keeping your edits on UserBase rather than just linking to Community could have been a desire to have the content translated. I the mean time, however, translation work has slowed down significantly due to our translation system being broken. I am still somewhat hopeful we shall find a solution to that, but currently translatability is not a strong argument in favor of UserBase.

I would like to point you to this discussion on Konqueror's talk page. Thanks. The madman 14:34, 13 September 2009 (UTC)
Wrong link in sidebar
Dear Claus chr,
In order to fix bug 465268, please remove “Special:MyLanguage/” prefix in Special:myLanguage/Special:SupportedLanguages| ub-languages-represented
line in MediaWiki:Sidebar.

Translator Account
Really sorry to bother you here, but i asked for a translators account last week and nothing happened in between... Regards, Pzamponi (talk)
Hi, thank you, so I'm here again :) . Last month, so before I got translator right (didn't notice it was needed) I made some translation, but now they aren't shown. I mean, if I go here (https://userbase.kde.org/Tutorials/it) it says it's 100% translated but is partly still in English. So, what should I do? Is that normal?
Template:Proposed deletion
I just thought I'd let you know that it wasn't necessary to put the [[Category:Template]]
wikicode back on the template, categorization should be handled by the documentation subpage when done correctly. You can see here on the revision that I made that the template was, in fact, still in Category:Template the whole time, which occurs because [[Category:Template]]
is down at the bottom of Template:Proposed deletion/doc inside <includeonly>
tags, the same way it's done on any of the big Mediawiki sites. Cheers. —RogueScholar (talk) 19:02, 15 July 2024 (UTC)
