The Plasma Workspace este una din tehnologiile cheie ale KDE SC 4.x (de asemenea cunoscut ca şi "Pillars of KDE"), şi una din cele mai vizibile pentru utilizatori.Cum Plasma Desktop tratează în mod diferit interfaţa utilizatorului faţă de cea a desktop-ului tradiţional, pot exista confuzii cu privire la ce este Plasma Desktop, ce face şi cum efectuează sarcini comune.
Scopul acestui document este de a arăta cum se efectuează sarcini comune în Plasma Desktop. Fiecare HowTo constă dintr-un topic şi o scurtă animaţie, ce poate fi ajunsă făcând click pe link.
Animaţiile sunt codate în formatul GIF şi pot fi astfel vizualizate în majoritatea browserelor web moderne fără nici un plug-in suplimentar instalat.Reţineţi faptul că animaţiile sunt deschise.
