<menuchoice>Simple</menuchoice> means that it works channel-wise, no crosstalk. The off-diagonal elements of the transform matrix are zero - no color crosstalk, no color space rotation. But this should be sufficient for many tasks. For example, when shooting under tungsten light, the blue signal will not migrate into red, it will simply be too small. Amplifying the blue (and a bit of green too) should be all that is needed. Similar, an underwater shot will simply be red deficient, needing some red boost, etc.

Simpel betyder, at den virker på hver kanal uden crosstalk. Elementerne udenfor diagonalen i transformationsmatricen er nul - ingen farve-crosstalk, ingen rotation i farverummet. Dette burde dog være tilstrækkeligt til mange opgaver. Når man for eksempel optager under wolfram-lys, så migrerer det blå signal ikke ind i det røde; det vil bare være for lille. Forstærkning af det blå (og også lidt af det grønne) skulle kunne klare det. Tilsvarende vil en undervandsoptagelse mangle rødt og derfor behøve en fremhævning af rødt osv.
