Message definition (Concepts/OpenPGP Getting Started)
The well supported key types are DSA (signatures only), ElGamal (encryption only), RSA (both) and ECDSA (elliptic curves). GnuPG offers the creation of keys with a length from 1024 to 4096 bit. (as of 2020-08)

Die gut unterstützten Schlüsseltypen sind DSA (nur Signaturen), ElGamal (nur Verschlüsselung) und RSA (beides); ECDSA (elliptische Kurven) werden in Kürze folgen. GnuPG bietet gegenwärtig (2013) die Möglichkeit, interaktiv Schlüssel mit 1024 Bit bis 4096 Bit Länge zu erzeugen.
