When updates become available, '''Kubuntu''' will display a message in the System Tray. To update the system, open '''Muon Update Manager''' from either '''KickOff''' or '''Krunner''' and click the <menuchoice>Install updates</menuchoice> button. After installing some updates, it may be necessary to restart the computer. If so, '''Kubuntu''' will display a pop-up and an icon in the System Tray.

Els desenvolupadors de la Kubuntu publiquen característiques i actualitzacions de seguretat per a aplicacions i paquets pel sistema Kubuntu. Quan hi hagi disponibles actualitzacions, Kubuntu us mostrarà un missatge a la safata del sistema. Per actualitzar el sistema, obriu el Gestor d'actualitzacions Muon i feu clic al botó Instal·la les actualitzacions. Després d'instal·lar algunes actualitzacions, podria ser necessari reiniciar l'ordinador. Si és així, la Kubuntu mostrarà una finestra emergent i una icona a la safata del sistema.
