List here the things that are different from other programs, and why, so we may start incorporating it into the page.

General:

  • We have an eraser blending mode instead of a seperate tool, the eraser is toggled with 'e'.

Photoshop/Gimp

  • We have geomtetric drawing tools and several brush engines, while photoshop has brush engines as drawing tools.
  • we have a filter brush engine instead of blur/dodge tools.
  • we have vector layers instead of free floaing 'paths'.

Corel Painter:

  • We have a sophisticated colour management engine in Krita that allows you to go beyond just mere RGB and CMYK, and allows you to actually use the ICC profiles from you printer, or to choose for the VFX industry color management tool OCIO.

Painttool Sai:

  • We have a much more versatile engine than painttool sai and colour management.

etc.

Etc.

  • Our layer bounds are not fixed like in GIMP. the layer boundaries are flexible allowing the layers to extend as we paint beyond. Also any thing we paste gets on a new layer not in a floating layer like GIMP
  • Our interface is also very much fluid and one can arrange it in any permutation combination depending upon the requirement
  • We have filtering system for brush presets and also a very good resource management support almost all resources in one file
  • Clone layers
  • I don't know if this is a difference but our file format is also pretty open so that when a file gets corrupt one can open it as a zip and extract layers.
  • wrap around mode
  • wide variety of blending mode
