yurchor reverted an accurate article into an inaccurate one

... concerning search box in Kickoff vs. KMenu. Is editing this wiki about introducing new or old falsehoods ? It much seems so.

This wiki is about preserving old truths and adding new ones :-)

There seems to be some disagreement among contributors about the contents of this page. I suggest we use the talk page to work things out and then update the page when we have reached an agreement.

E-m-m... What was "accurate"? Two smileys in inappropriate places, "benefits" vs "benefit" and wrong internal link without "Special:myLanguage"? For what reason did you make these changes?

Did you read the pages from UserBase editing help? Have you learned the consistent markup of UserBase?

Several words on other reverts: same weird edition for no reason. For example, are you sure that shell is "bash" on all KDE platforms? UserBase is a wiki for users. Is it necessary to add pages about "shell"? For what reason have you added KRunner on the menu applications page?

Adding applications

How do I add applications to the menu? In particular, I would like to add Mozilla Firefox Profile Manager.

Images extending over the sidebar

My laptop has a 1366 x 768 screen, and as I work with a few applications at the same time I tend to keep windows ~85% of screen size (it aids navigation). Where this page has three images side-by-side they extend approx. half way across the sidebar. This is a problem with fixed image sizes, and the only two solutions I can offer are to stick to two in a row if you want them big enough to be instantly readable, or to use the <gallery> tag, to produce neat clickable thumbnails. You can see the result of that in KWin/Gallery
