Last edit: 11:41, 1 May 2012Here are a few more needing category statement changes: Quick_Start/fa Dolphin/fa Applications/Desktop/fa System_Settings/Login_Screen/fa System Settings/Startup and Shutdown/fa Glossary/fa What_is_KDE/fa Claus and I are doing a clean-up of categories, so I may find others that need your help. Thanks Parent MoreHistory View source Link toannew 15:23, 7 April 2012 Sorry, you are misunderstanding what is needed. In the [[Category:Admin]] statement, it's the category-name, Admin, that needs to be translated. "Category:" is the command part understood by Mediawiki. Parent MoreHistory View source Link toannew 07:43, 9 April 2012 Thanks for those. Could you please do the same for Kontact/fa, translating Office to اداری/fa ? Parent MoreHistory View source Link toannew 15:13, 19 May 2012 Translation of category namesHistory SummarizeThe idea is that category names should appear in the language of the page. Importantly, clicking on that category statement takes you to a list of similar pages, so you don't want dozens of English pages showing up on the same page . We have an (incomplete) list of translations, to ensure consistency, on Category_Translation,_Esperanto_to_Suomi(fi) - perhaps you could fill in the gaps? The statement needs translation to look like "[[Category:دسترسی/fa]]" - the language extension being used so that languages with great similarities are not confused. It's good to see these translations happening MoreHistory View source Link toannew 08:52, 31 March 2012 I do this in page http://userbase.kde.org/Welcome_to_KDE_UserBase but that page doesn't exist!: everything is correct? __________________________________ on same page I can't translate last section "If you are willing to contribute..." it say :Invalid token (badtoken) can you help me? Parent MoreHistory View source Link toAmirHP 12:43, 31 March 2012 The redlink - yes that is to be expected. At first, all that is on that page is the auto-generated link to your page. What you should do now is, in Farsi, put on that page something like "on this page you will find Farsi pages about...." - take a look at the English equivalent category page. It doesn't need to be a direct translation of what's there, but it will give you an idea. The last section - since you can never save it, it's hard for me to guess. One possibility would be for you to paste the message that comes back - but if it's in Farsi I won't be able to read it The only thing I can guess at is the possibility that you are translating a part of a link that should stay untranslated, such as "Special:mylanguage/Tasks_and_Tools" where only the "Tasks and Tools" after the pipe symbol should be translated. If it's not that, I'll try to get someone from the i10n team to look at it for you. Parent MoreHistory View source Link toannew 14:19, 31 March 2012 no I didn't translate link. also when I select on ↓ and copy English, it give me same error. Parent MoreHistory View source Link toAmirHP 16:16, 31 March 2012 Can you provide me the translation for that section as answer here? So i can do some tests. Please read Tasks_and_Tools, Translate_a_Page and Translation_Workflow before starting work. You will find lots of help linked from those pages, but please ask if there is anything you don't understand. Enjoy! MoreHistory View source Link toannew 19:32, 20 July 2011 but the wiki isn't complete with RTL language for example Arabic or Farsi!! Parent MoreHistory View source Link toAmirHP 06:13, 21 July 2011 Can you be just a little bit more specific? Can you explain the issues on #kde-www (on freenode.net) to the developers? Parent MoreHistory View source Link toYurchor 06:27, 21 July 2011 when I write Farsi, statement should start right side (unlike English) but it's start left side and when Farsi words mixture English words it's very terrible if this problem doesn't fix I can't continue because writs are illegible Parent MoreHistory View source Link toAmirHP 10:37, 21 July 2011 I wasn't aware of this problem, but now you have alerted us, we are trying to find a solution. We'll report back on this page when we either have a solution or the bad news. Sorry about this. Parent MoreHistory View source Link toannew 19:13, 21 July 2011 We have been advised to add div statements at the beginning and end of the page, which we have done on An_introduction_to_KDE farsi page. Could you please re-enter that text to see whether it now displays correctly? Parent MoreHistory View source Link toannew 19:25, 21 July 2011Show 5 replies Note that this will be fixed after upgrading to MediaWiki 1.18 and upgrading the Translate extension to trunk. Adding <div dir="rtl"> tags will no longer be necessary. Parent MoreHistory View source Link toSPQRobin 01:36, 14 August 2011 Your translation of the Introduction pageHistory SummarizeHi. I see that you accidentally translated the main Introduction to KDE page, which had to be reverted. I'm sorry about that, but you need to be working within the Translate system. Translate_a_Page will help you get started. You don't have to lose all the work you've already done, either. Once you have set up your Translator account I'll get the archived page back and copy it onto a page for you, so that you can copy and paste if you wish. I hope you won't let this put you off - I'd be very happy to see you working with us. MoreHistory View source Link toannew 18:38, 20 July 2011 OK I add myself into translate account ... its enough? Parent MoreHistory View source Link toAmirHP 19:15, 20 July 2011 Yes, you are now authorised to translate. The work you had already done has been put onto User:AmirHP/Introduction. Let me know when you are ready for me to delete the page. The system handles all the T: tags - just translate each message as you see it in the list. Ask anything you need to, and if you need quicker answers, try IRC, on channel #kde-www. Good luck! and Enjoy! Parent MoreHistory View source Link toannew 19:48, 20 July 2011 I forgot to mention - you can upload localised versions of the images, too. For instance, you create an image similar to Kde-sc-46-w10.png but showing farsi menu and script, then save it as Kde-sc-46-w10/fa.png, and upload. Parent MoreHistory View source Link toannew 19:54, 20 July 2011 Translation on UserBaseHistory SummarizePlease follow this guidelines to translate into Arabic. For now, I have to revert your changes (the translation is kept on History page). Sorry. MoreHistory View source Link toYurchor 18:33, 20 July 2011 but there are nothing about Arabic or Persian language. can you help me? Parent MoreHistory View source Link toAmirHP 18:58, 20 July 2011 What kind of help do you need? You just need a translator account (the instruction is given by the link above). Parent MoreHistory View source Link toYurchor 19:03, 20 July 2011 Once you've got your account you will see a link to translate the page. On that new page there is a drop-down list of languages. Choose your language there and Fetch the messages. It will be easy once you have seen that. If you apply for the account now I can authorise it before I leave for the night.
