Message definition (Concepts/OpenPGP Getting Started)
The well supported key types are DSA (signatures only), ElGamal (encryption only), RSA (both) and ECDSA (elliptic curves). GnuPG offers the creation of keys with a length from 1024 to 4096 bit. (as of 2020-08)

Els tipus de claus amb una àmplia implementació són DSA (només les signatures), ElGamal (només l'encriptatge) i RSA (ambdós). Aviat s'afegirà ECDSA (utilitzant corbes el·líptiques). GnuPG ofereix la creació de claus amb una longitud de 1024 a 4096 bits. Aquesta és la situació actual (any 2013).
