Kubuntu vil altid bruge Ubuntu-projektet som sit solide fundament og tilføje det nyeste fra KDE. Som en del af fællesskabet omkring Ubuntu-projektet vil Kubuntu fortsat bruge den infrastruktur og support som Ubuntu-projektet yder. Vi vil stræbe efter at være den bedste KDE-baserede Linux-distribution, der findes.
