===Virtual Desktops===
:A popular concept of Unix based window managers is the one of ''virtual desktops''. This means you have not only one screen where you can place your windows on but several. When you switch to a different desktop (usually with a pager) you will only see the windows which you started on your new desktop or moved to it. A window can also be made "sticky" which means it appears on all virtual desktops.

Desktop virtuali

Un concetto comune dei gestori delle finestre per Unix è quello dei desktop virtuali. Significa che non hai solo uno schermo dove posizionare le tue finestre, ma parecchi. Quando passi ad un desktop differente (di solito tramite un pager), vedrai solo le finestre che hai avviato o spostato in quel desktop. Una finestra può anche essere resa "persistente" cioè visualizzata in tutti i desktop virtuali.
