* with KDE 3.5, right-click and choose "Create link to Application"
* with KDE 4 it is much more complicated:
** the "Desktop folder" approach
*** start [[Special:myLanguage/Konqueror|Konqueror]], choose <menuchoice>Help -> About KDE</menuchoice>. Verify you have KDE 4.2 at least.
*** right-click onto your desktop, choose <menuchoice>Desktop Settings -> Type -> Folder View</menuchoice>
*** in 4.5 that becomes <menuchoice>Desktop Settings -> Activity -> Type -> Folder View</menuchoice>
*** right-click onto your desktop, choose <menuchoice>Create new... -> Link to Application</menuchoice>
** the "drag and drop" approach
*** Open a file manager and drag the file you would like onto the desktop. It will appear there as icon.

i KDE 3.5 højreklikker du og vælger Lav link til applikation"
i KDE 4 er det noget mere omstændigt:
- ved brug af "Desktop-mappen"
  - start Konqueror, vælg Hjælp -> Om KDE og check, at du har mindst KDE 4.2
  - højreklik på skrivebordet, vælg Indstilling af aktiviteten skrivebord -> Type -> Mappevisning
  - i 4.5 bliver det Indstilling af skrivebord -> Aktivitet -> Type -> Mappevisning
  - Højreklik på dit skrivebord og vælg Opret ny... -> Link til program
- "træk og slip"-metoden
  - Åbn en filmanager og træk den fil du ønsker ud på skrivebordet. Den vil blive vist der som et ikon.
