Проекти Kdenlive складаються з одного файла .kdenlive (у форматі XML), який містить:

  • дані щодо властивостей відео та звукових даних
  • посилань на всі початкові матеріал (та їхні проміжні робочі копії)
  • дані щодо розташування кліпів на монтажному столі, застосованих ефектів та будь-які дані щодо отримання остаточного відео.
