這個軟體用來設定 PPP (點對點協議，Point-to-Point Protocol)聯網。用來設定手機 "modem" 聯網很有用。也用來設定真實的 modem 聯網。但現在 NetworkManager 套件也計劃實現 PPP 功能，總有一天，會讓 KPPP 過時。
