    Historic page

This page is of historic interest only. The content of the page is obsolete.

The apps in this page are present here for archival and educational purposes and should not be used anymore.

The KDE ecosystem has existed for a long period of time and in that time many apps have been created that have either become unmaintained or have been superseded.

This sections documents some of the historical apps, preserving the information for archival and educational purposes.

None of the information in this section should be considered a tutorial. We recommend using the modern equivalent for superseded apps.

KChart was the charting tool from KOffice and is still the charting tool from Calligra. In older version, KChart was a standalone application, now it's a part with KGantt of the KDiagram library used by other KDE applications.

Kopete was a flexible and extendable multiple protocol instant messaging system. For instant messaging needs use the modern replacements for the relevant standard.

KPlato is a historical application for creating Gantt charts, which has been replaced by Plan, part of the Calligra suite.

KWord was the historical word processor, which has been replaced by Words, part of the Calligra suite.
