Talk:Tutorials/MIDI on Linux

From KDE UserBase Wiki

This page hasn't changed since 2010. It has become obsolete. Qsynth does not connect to jack, rather it tries to create a jack server. Maybe fluidsynth worked a decade ago. QjackCtl now controls jack. None of the applications listed herein are aware of QjackCtl.

New page:

  1. /etc/rc.d/rc.pulseaudio stop or killall -9 pulseaudio
  2. QJackCtl - Start
  3. QjackCtl - Run
  4. Open jack-aware MIDI application (VCV Rack, for example)

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. Now all we need is someone knowledgeable about MIDI to step up and write new content :-) If you could do it, it would be very much appreciated. Claus chr (talk) 08:56, 23 January 2022 (UTC)
