2021 question about translations
- Hi,
- Translations do not work since the last MediaWiki update. You can translate but the results will not be published. Ex.:
- https://userbase.kde.org/System_Settings/Appearance
- It is translated into Ukrainian, but the translation is not applied. The same thing can be observed on the welcome page:
- https://userbase.kde.org/Welcome_to_KDE_UserBase/uk
- Can it be fixed?

Why remove icons? Why Note-box-icon.png ?
I fixed the Info, Tip, and Warning templates on techbase to have icons. But then I realized you intentionally removed the icons from some, e.g. techbase:Template:Tip. I'm curious, why change one wiki and not the others? Was it that the images were missing on techbase? I figured out that techbase can access images from a "shared repository" on userbase (with some glitches, see bug #502586), but maybe that didn't work in April 2020 when you removed the icon.
I also notice you changed File:Note-box-icon.png to be different from community:File:Note-box-icon.png. Again, why? it's unfortunate to have different icons for the same things on different wikis, and it means Template:Note looks like Template:Info.
I know maintaining wikis is thankless work, especially as the community, techbase, and userbase wikis drift apart, so thanks for your efforts. -- skierpage (talk) 08:33, 9 April 2025 (UTC)
