Kontact è il gestore integrato di informazioni personali di KDE, ma può essere utilizzato anche in altri ambienti.

Supporta i messaggi di posta elettronica, le rubriche, i calendari, le attività, le fonti di notizie e molto altro ancora.

La suite Kontact è la potente soluzione per la gestione delle informazioni personali (PIM) di KDE. Ti consente di gestire i messaggi di posta elettronica, l'agenda, i contatti e altri dati 'personali' in un unico strumento. Kontact offre le innovazioni necessarie per aiutarti a gestire più facilmente le tue comunicazioni, a organizzare il lavoro più velocemente e a lavorare in gruppo al meglio per arrivare a una maggiore produttività ed efficienza nella collaborazione digitale.

Componenti

KDE Kontact supporta vari server groupware. Quando utilizzi questi server il tuo gruppo di lavoro ha accesso a funzioni come le cartelle di posta condivise, gli elenchi di attività di gruppo, la condivisione del calendario, la rubrica centralizzata e la programmazione delle riunioni.

Kontact è costituito dal back end Kontact PIM e dalle applicazioni grafiche che si connettono ad esso. Speciali 'agenti' (come un agente Facebook) vengono utilizzati per prendere e inserire nuovi dati tra quelli esistenti (per esempio i contatti o le notizie). Grazie all'infrastruttura semplice e lineare è possibile sviluppare nuovi agenti con facilità.

Kontact is available in all major Linux distribution repositories, as tarballs, and soon a Flatpak version will also be available. Ancient versions were compatible with Windows, the Kontact team is looking for help to improve Windows support. For more information look at the Kontact download page.
